No, it really only works with sugar sold for it. It will make with hard candies but not as well . Don't recommend for liquid at all

FIRST USE SAFETY AND COMMON SENSE! Take into account water around electric appliances can be hazardous. I've used a little tiny bit of water (teaspoon or less) at a time as well as wet paper towel. BE CAREFUL! Avoid burning your hand.
