    mule striking utilizing the obverse of the
    EXTREMELY RARE
    1783 silver award medal given to loyal Indians who fought for the Spanish during the revolt of Tupac Amaru (2 examples known) and the reverse die of a medal struck during the early years of Peruvian Independence. Deeply toned obverse with underlying luster, small zigzag scratch before mouth. The reverse is more mildly toned allowing the high amount of luster present to show through. Both sides exhibit some deep rough die rust or thin die cracks showing the age of the original dies used when this piece was struck.
