    Description

Extremely thick and heavy brass dish, 6.75 inches in diameter. Reverse side has black areas of corrosion as seen which I have stabilized using Simichrome polish cream. There was a hook for hanging that was added with some lead solder on the reverse side as well, I took off the hook but I left the spot of solder.
A rare Shabbat piece by a Jewish artist from Munich, Germany, Heinrich Schwed (signed with his initials "HS" and "M" for Munich). This is the only Schwed piece where he used nekudos (Hebrew vowels), as fun decoration. The book photo is from "Jewish Antiques : From Menorahs to Seltzer Bottles", which discusses another Schwed piece. The last photo is from an auction in Israel where another example of this dish sold for 6 (0 hammer + 19% buyers premium).
