    Description

1928 PERUVIAN HALF SOL SILVER COIN KM 216
This half sol coin features a seated Liberty on the obverse, with the words “FIRME Y FELIZ POR LA UNION” (literally “Firm and Happy for the Union”) encircling lady Liberty, and the denomination “1/2 SOL”
    below her.
    The reverse features the Peruvian
    escudo nacional
(national coat of arms) and the date 1928.
    The rim is milled.
The coin 30 mm in diameter (just a hair smaller than a US 50 cent piece).
According to what I have read on line, it is .500 fine silver and weights 12.5 grams; it has a nice feel to it.
This specimen could use a cleaning, but as you can readily see in the photos, it has not experienced much wear. The coin you see in these photos is the very coin you will receive if you submit the winning bid.
